The Dumfries Astronomy Society
- provides a focus for all those in Dumfries and the surrounding area with an interest in astronomy
- meets monthly from September to May for presentations and lectures, for software demonstrations and to exchange news and views
- has its own telescopes (a 9.25 SCT (RMT) and a six-inch Newtonian) and arranges viewing nights for members
- arranges visits and outings of an astronomical or scientific nature
